Did you know that music can be like a superhero for your heart? According to the American Heart Association, music has the power to calm us or energize us, and that's great for our health! Joanne Loewy, director of the Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine, even has a special playlist for those moments of heavy traffic, where a Bach melody can do wonders to lower your pulse. Meanwhile, cardiologist Dr. David Alter uses the music of the Rolling Stones to enhance his workouts, proving that music distracts us from pain and helps us exercise longer.

Since ancient times, music has been used for healing, and today science confirms this. Recent studies show that music therapy relieves pain and anxiety in patients recovering from heart surgery, and may even make high blood pressure medications more effective. Music acts directly on our bodies, stimulating hormones and functions that improve blood pressure and heart rate, or indirectly, motivating us to adopt healthy habits like exercise. So, add rhythm to your life and let music take care of your heart!
